No pool pass? No problem. When the city heats up, we’ve got splash [pads], New Haven parks come to the rescue with free* family-friendly fun that’s perfect for spontaneous playdates, quick cool-offs, or just a chance to beat the summer sun.

Here’s where to make a splash in the Elm City this season:

1. Lighthouse Point Park Splash Pad
2 Lighthouse Rd, New Haven
Just steps from the beach, this full-featured splash pad offers sprayers, tipping buckets, and shady spots to lounge – ideal for a full day of family fun.

*New Haven Residents (vehicles registered in New Haven, can park free, non-resident, CT vehicles, $25 per day and ,0ut-of-state vehicles, $30 per day.

2. Edgewood Park Splash Pad (“The Sundial”)
Ella T. Grasso Blvd & Edgewood Ave
A longtime local favorite, this sculptural spray pad is shaped like a sundial and set inside one of the city’s largest parks – complete with trails, playgrounds, and plenty of green space to roam.

3. Dover Street Splash Pad (Fair Haven)
Near Dover St & Front St
This smaller neighborhood spot offers a relaxed vibe and river views – perfect for a quick splash or a quiet afternoon in the shade.

4. Ann Street Splash Pad

Tucked inside a residential playground, this colorful, kid-friendly splash pad features ground-level jets that are perfect for little ones.
