We recently sat down with event organizers at University Properties, the team behind The Shops at Yale, to get the details on this year\u2019s appetizer and dessert crawl. The Shops at Yale, spanning the Chapel Street Historic and Broadway Districts, is home to a mix of top retailers and beloved local restaurants\u2014including Apple, lululemon, Warby Parker, Claire\u2019s Corner Copia, Villa Lulu, and more. Managed by Yale University Properties, this vibrant shopping and dining hub is key in shaping the downtown experience while supporting the local community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Now, let\u2019s talk about the event you won\u2019t want to miss! Downtown New Haven\u2019s most extensive food crawl series returns to the Elm City this month for the sixth year in a row.\u00a0 <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event began as a single crawl, instantly expanding to a series of three following overwhelming demand. Seriously, this event is not one to miss. Since its inception, the event has completely sold out year after year. The first crawl of the year is set to take place on <\/span><b>April 26<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with the others taking place on June 7 and August 2.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The crawl is all fun, food, and philanthropy, with proceeds benefiting <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nhfpl.org\/about\/foundation\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The New Haven Free Public Library Foundation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fellowshipplace.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fellowship Place<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newhavenct.gov\/government\/departments-divisions\/animal-shelter-division\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Robin I. Kroogman New Haven Animal Shelter<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Over the years, this event has resulted in more than $25,000 in donations to New Haven nonprofits, with this year\u2019s crawls set to topple $10,000 in proceeds.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As for what\u2019s on the plate, here\u2019s a sample of what this month\u2019s crawlers will taste:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Sherkaan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019s Pista Burfi, the vegan fudgy pistachio bars with beet-lemon curd, cardamom, and rose petals.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chicken salad toasts from <\/span><b>Heirloom<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at The Study at Yale, and fresh ceviche from <\/span><b>Pacifico<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with shrimp, mango, red onion, and fresh citrus juices.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cacio e Pepe Mezze Maniche from <\/span><b>Strega<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, featuring a fondue of 16 different peppercorns from around the globe.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mini bowls from<\/span><b> B Natural Kitchen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, mixed with roasted sweet potato, beets, carrots, turmeric cabbage, charred broccoli with lemon, roasted cauliflower with parmesan, and green beans and mushrooms.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A small cup of any flavor ice cream from <\/span><b>Ashley\u2019s Ice Cream, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and classic desserts from Book Trader Caf\u00e9, Cookie39, and more.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you have what it takes to attend?
